Real people designing spaces that actually work for how you live
Look, we started Kytheral Venquinth back in 2012 because frankly, we were tired of seeing the same cookie-cutter buildings popping up everywhere. Toronto deserved better, and honestly, so did the planet.
What began as three architects sharing a cramped office on Queen West has grown into something we're pretty proud of. We've now got a team of 14 talented folks who genuinely care about making buildings that don't just look good in magazines but actually make sense for the people using them every day.
Sustainability isn't some marketing buzzword for us – it's baked into everything we do. We've been LEED-certified since day one, and yeah, we'll happily geek out about passive solar design or reclaimed materials if you let us.
These days, we're working on projects across Ontario and beyond. Residential homes that feel like home, commercial spaces that people actually want to work in, and urban developments that consider more than just profit margins. It's been quite a ride.
We believe good architecture should be felt, not just seen. It's gotta work with the environment, not against it. And it should age well – we're not designing disposable buildings here.
Every project starts with listening. What do you actually need? How do you move through space? What makes you feel at home or productive?
Then we get to work combining those human needs with smart, sustainable design that'll stand the test of time. No ego-driven statements, just solid architecture that serves its purpose.

The milestones that shaped who we are
Three architects, one vision, and way too much coffee. Opened our first studio on Queen West with just 450 sq ft of space.
Landed the Riverside Community Center redesign. That project put us on the map and validated our sustainable approach.
Moved to our current studio, doubled our team, and won the Ontario Architecture Award for sustainable design.
14 team members, projects across Ontario, and we're still as passionate about sustainable design as day one.
The creative minds behind the designs
Founding Principal & Lead Architect
Sarah's the one who keeps us grounded. With 18 years under her belt, she's got this knack for seeing potential where others see problems. Studied at Waterloo, worked at some big firms, then decided smaller and more personal was the way to go.
M.Arch, LEED AP BD+C
Founding Principal & Urban Planning Director
Marcus is our urban planning guru. He thinks in neighborhoods, not just buildings. Spent five years working on city development projects before co-founding the firm. If there's a zoning challenge, he's already figured out three solutions.
M.U.P., OAA Registered
Sustainable Design Director
Jen joined us in 2016 and revolutionized how we think about materials. She's got a PhD in sustainable building systems and isn't afraid to challenge conventional wisdom. Her research on passive cooling has literally changed our approach to design.
PhD, M.Arch, LEED Fellow
Senior Architect - Residential Projects
David's our residential specialist. He's designed over 60 homes and somehow remembers every client's specific quirks and preferences. Originally from Vancouver, he brings West Coast sensibility to Ontario projects in the best way possible.
M.Arch, OAA Licensed
Interior Architecture Lead
Amara bridges the gap between structure and soul. She's got this gift for understanding how people actually use spaces, not just how they look in photos. Her work on our commercial interiors has won multiple design awards.
B.I.D., ARIDO Certified
Heritage Restoration Specialist
Tom's passion is breathing new life into old buildings. He spent three years working on European restoration projects before returning to Canada. When a heritage building crosses our desk, Tom's the first one we call.
M.Arch, Heritage Specialist
Plus eight more talented architects, designers, and project managers who make it all happen
Want to Work With Us?We'll tell you what's realistic, not what you wanna hear. Projects go smoother when everyone's on the same page from day one.
Not optional, not negotiable. Every design decision considers long-term environmental impact because that's just how it should be.
Buildings don't exist in a vacuum. We study the neighborhood, the climate, the culture – everything that makes a place unique.
The best ideas come from conversation. We work with clients, engineers, contractors – everyone's expertise matters.
